Classroom Activities Monday: ELA: Summative on Unit 1: text structures, text features, central idea, and rhetorical appeals. To prepare, students should review class notes. For additional support, students can view the instructional videos below or review the IXL skills E.4 and A.1. READING: One Pager for A Long Walk to Water Tuesday: ELA: Continue working on research for argumentative debates: Complete the introduction, declaration of greatness, and rebuttal. Begin working on micro-round and final six. READING: Finish one-pager for A Long Walkt to Water Wednesday: Connotation and Denotation Lesson (15 minutes) DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) Time. If your student has a book from home they would like to read, please have them bring it with them. (20 minutes) Thursday/Friday: ELA: Connotation and Denotation Lesson and Exit Ticket (20 minutes) Finalize debate presentations using the project rubric. Presentations will be Monday and Tuesday of Week 8. When finished presenting, students will use the information to write an argumentative essay.
